Saturday (6/5/17), Taman Ismail Marzuki was crowded with dance carnival, various dance communities in Jakarta attended the Jakarta Dance Carnival, featuring various genres of dance, ethnic, modern dance, hip hop, contemporary, modern ethnic, children’s dance, hip hop opera, dance film, dance makeup tutorial, dance costume exhibition, dance photo exhibition, dance film, full filling several points of the Jakarta Arts Center area, starting from Jln. Cikini Raya 73, Plaza TIM, TIM parking lot, Jakarta Theater Square, Ampli Theater, to Small Theater.

No less interesting, contemporary pop dance community performances by Animal Pop Family, Deddy Luthan Dance Company performances, Sigma Dance Theater, Citra Art Studio, Dance Costume Exhibition by Rangga Rakasiwi, “Dance With Me Zone” by Vicky Burky and Melly Zamri, and many more, approximately 150 Jakarta dance communities attended and danced to display their abilities and dedication.
The interest of the people who came to watch this carnival was enthusiastic, in addition to being involved in dancing under the direction of Vicky Burky and Melly Zamri, the audience was willing to stand and sit on the floor in the courtyard of the Jakarta Theater, the dance performance at the Ampli Theatre was filled with audiences who wanted to watch a variety of traditional, hip hop, modern, contemporary dances, under the drizzle of rain, However, the show went on even though it eventually broke up when the rain got heavier.
The participants consisting of children, teenagers and adults dance community also performed on the prosenium stage of the Small Theater, they seemed to enjoy this event with excitement and enthusiasm to perform their dances at the session that had been determined by the committee. Numbering more than 1500 dancers, hip hop, modern and traditional dancers filled the TIM parking lot, 170 Animal Pop Family dancers took part in the action in the courtyard of Graha Bhakti Budaya. Making longitudinal rows, dancing in the typical Animal Pop Family style, kangaroo gestures pioneered by Papuan choreographer and worldwide Jecko Siompo, danced by children and teenagers who named their community Animal Pop Family.

Susi and her students aged 8 to 10 years, prepared for her dance performance for 3 days with extra practice, “I was invited by Vita Valeska, Vita the head of the IDCOMM committee, hopefully invited again and can participate”, said Susi Mariah enthusiastically.
After this Jakarta Dance Carnival, Susi is preparing for her ballet performance in October at Graha Bhakti Budaya as an annual activity of the On Stage Academy ballet community.
