The night of April 30, 2017 entered the 3rd year of discussion, this discussion also commemorated World Dance Day at Nan Jombang Dance Farm.
There are some interesting things revealed in the discussion this time.
First, as choreographers from Minang, the signs only exist in the ethics where the process and performance are being undertaken, referring to the way of life in society, that “Where the earth is footed there the sky is upheld” by always uniting themselves into the local ethics where dance is happening. This might be included in “Adat Salingka Nagari”. In general, so far, the event can be said to run safely and smoothly in all the dynamics of differences that exist. “One thing of uniformity cannot enter our world”.
Second, when the talk grazes on the notation that once existed.
This was also addressed by the participants of the discussion in a very simple way. As a choreographer who has roots in pencak silat, namely Silat Minang, it seems that the notation makes the movements used and used will refer to the agreed and written provisions. This will inevitably be the loss of the word exploration to recognize the ability to move that each body has is different, how to respond with different sensitivity. In the end, it returns to standardization with the aim of uniformity to the different technical differences in each of our bodies, “One more uniformity is unacceptable”.
Next, our naivety in the area of always wanting and having a self-identity with motivation echoes of instant success and may happen to happen with some individuals in the central area of power or in a small number of places in this country.
The region also wants to have artists and experts in the arts and culture as they have. It was this desire that triggered the emergence of an imperceptible and long-realized disaster in this country.
The innocence and sincere desire of some regions to ask for guidance, immediately used by these very proud individuals called experts, to give what they have, not help explore the potential that exists in the area itself.
Here the movement of uniformity is again being carried out well and very cruelly. Ironically, this is done by those of us who often cry out against the policy. “Without realizing it, hypocrisy is endemic to all layers of this beloved place”.
My conclusion would be,
It has been a very long habit to bring environmental shape to a place where the body needs support to be the body in complementing the one who is dancing.
Even though the supporters in the room where we need to convey messages that cannot be described by actual motion, have been waiting as an interest for the need for the presence of this body, there so that movement becomes a dance work according to its existence.
If there is a shortage or need for additional supporting materials in the space as a result of the presence of this work, it is not the need for dance but the space that does not adequately understand its own needs. The environment needs the body to become the body within itself. In dancing, where the event is happening.
So, when we talk about the study of the body openly without wanting to know what the beginning of the body was called? Indirectly we have reopened the door of uniformity in various ethnicities that exist superficially.
History is repeated again and at the same time continues some of the pending neglect of carrying out uniformity of cultural property, in order to cover the lowness of civilization, where power will always reign!
